Snow, Updates and a Bright Granny!

I have been busy this weekend finishing sewing up another bright granny square blanket. I made a similar one last year to go in our campervan and I had some squares over so I have added a few more to make a bigger blanket to go on my bed. Once I get all the squares sewed up I'm going to add a border in black and orange around the edge, not sure how big it will end up but hopefully big enough for a double bed!

If you visit my blog often you may notice I have been doing a few updates, including a new wider and whiter look, new header graphic and some updates to my about page. You will also notice that I have added a separate page for free patterns and projects which I will be adding too soon. I'm also going to have a go at a few new stitch videos this week so do watch out for those.

I did mention snow in my blog title and that's because we are experiencing a bit of a snow shower at the moment. No pics of the snow though as it's quite dark and dreary at the moment and it's not sticking much either so you will have to make do with pics of my granny blanket! Anyway back to it hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Crochet Hook Roll

I have been busy making myself a crochet hook roll today. It was nice to do a bit of sewing and hand embroidery for a change! It’s been a really sunny day today, though cold and I am really pleased with my new felt hook roll! I was thinking of making some for my Etsy shop but thought I would see if there was any interest first!

The roll fits my set of 9 KnitPro hooks comfortably but will accommodate standard size hooks too! I have some felt in stock to make a hook roll in purple and yellow, blue and white and red and green. If you would like another colourway just let me know.

If anyone would like one made to order the price is £12.50. Post & packaging would be extra. If interested please email

I have added the word HOOKS in hand embroidery to the flap (see photo) but this could be personalised with a name if you wished instead.

Cable Cardigan and Other Stuff

Sorry for the lack of posts, I have been feeling pretty under the weather lately and back and forth to the docs. I have been keeping myself busy though with finishing the cable cardigan for my daughter and a few new products for my Etsy Shop.

I have completed the back and one front of the cable cardi and I'm now on the second front (see below). I think this is going to turn out really well and will be great for my little girl to wear when we are camping. I am longing for Spring and the camping season to begin. It will be great to get on the beach and breath in some sea air! I'm definitely feeling like I need a change of scenery at the moment.

I have just started adding some of my handspun yarn to my Etsy shop and I have two more skeins to add this week. I'm really getting used to my new Kiwi spinning wheel so I plan to add some more handspun yarn to my shop over the coming months. It's good to be busy and you can never have too many projects on the go!
